Peggy S. Burhenn, M.S. is a certified Master Gardener, certified California Naturalist, and a docent at the Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove. She also volunteers for Xerces Society, Cal Poly, and the San Luis County Health Department. As an avid community scientist, she has monitored birds, nests, butterflies, and milkweed, banded birds, cultivated native plants, including milkweed, collected spiders, and participated in annual bird and butterfly counts.
